Our home in Charlottesville, Virginia currently features beautiful fall foliage and temperate fall weather. But, that alone could not account for the dozens of awards Charlottesville has won over the years.

Kiplinger ranked Charlottesville the #4 Best City in 2009, largely due to its strong business base.
Several factors are conducive to Charlottesville’s success with businesses.
The first major factor is the University of Virginia. Located in Charlottesville, U.Va. employs nearly 18,000 local residents. Charlottesville is a two-hour drive from Washington D.C. and three hours from the Norfolk naval base, resulting in many government jobs within the area. Close proximity to urban areas also offers a network for entrepreneurs and the opportunities for growth and expansion.
